The project was led by a Rapid Arc Welding Project Manager and an Operating Supervisor, both highly experienced in addressing failures on the R1 - R2 lift line, an area notorious for hex metal deterioration.
To ensure a fast and reliable repair, the team implemented a structured approach using advanced solutions:

The process began with addressing severe carburization on the shell caused by hex metal deterioration. This required additional manual grinding to achieve proper surface preparation and guarantee long-term integrity.
From there, the team worked systematically from top to bottom, closing all open areas before adjusting the ladder direction to maintain precise pattern alignment. This disciplined method continued throughout the entire lift line, resulting in a robust repair completed within the tight timeline.
Working closely with Hai Leck, the repair was completed within four days, allowing operations to resume with minimal disruption. Their swift response and adaptability were key to managing the emergency effectively.
According to customer’s calculations, using SpeedSerie® saved at least 10 days on the overall project timeline compared to conventional methods. Without this solution, the repair would have taken significantly longer.
